I was mostly thinking on the manga, and I wanted to keep it something easy to relate: since Illusion exists in both the manga and the anime, I kept it like that. Also because I think that Illusion comes first, in the whole creation thing.
And, mmm. The confussion is kind of what I wanted. Okay, not that so much but I wanted some of the whole mystery-aura that wraps itself around Drosselmeyer and Clow. It's not really important the why or how they met, just that they did, enough that they owed each other wizardy/magical favors.
And Clow, I don't think he directly intervened, since that would mean that he WAS a part of the story, rather than a spectator. He probably gave some out loud thoughts about how to make Duck into a heroine.
